Aaron Rodgers, who famously moved to Montclair earlier this year, was among the celebs at this year's US Open, presumably cheering on Voorhees native, Tommy Paul. Paul, 26, advanced to the fourth round of the Open for the first time in his career, after beating Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Friday, Sept. 1. NJ's Scottie Scheffler Ranked #1 Following PGA Championship Scottie Scheffler, a Bergen County native, is back on top. Scheffler is currently the #1 ranked golfer on the PGA Tour following his second place finish at the PGA Championship in Rochester, where he finished two strokes behind winner Brooks Koepeka.  At the PGA Championship, Scheffler got off to a hot start, with a -5 after two rounds. He struggled in the third round, carding a +3, but rebounded in the final round with a -5. With his second place finish, Scheffler earned $1.54 million in prize money. Gaal, who was first runner-up in the Miss New Jersey pageant in 2013, is linked to Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the 2022 US Open.  Fitzpatrick also won the 2023 RBG Heritage Open on Sunday, April 16. Feds: PA US Golf Worker Resold US Open Tickets Worth $3.4M For Profit A Pennsylvania man employed by the United States Golf Association was charged with federal fraud for reselling U.S. Open tickets worth $3.4 million for profit, authorities said. Robert Fryer, 39, of Perkasie, is accused of stealing more than 23,000 U.S. Open admission tickets for the 2013 U.S. Open held at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, PA, and continuing through the 2019 U.S. Open held at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, CA, according to Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams.
