Two Englewood Pedestrians Struck In Back-To-Back Crashes
Two Englewood pedestrians were struck Friday by vehicles only three blocks and barely 45 minutes apart, authorities said. A 45-year-old woman was struck at 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of East Palisade Avenue and South Dean Street by a 1999 Buick Century driven by a 77-year-old man, Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said. The sedan driver was turning right onto South Dean from East Palisade when he hit her in the crosswalk on Dean Street, he said. The woman wasn’t seriously injured, the deputy chief said. Carlstadt Ambulance Patient Picked Up By Hasbrouck Heights EMTs After Crash
A Carlstadt ambulance transporting a patient struck the mirror of a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon in Hasbrouck Heights, requiring another rig. The 41-year-old Maywood driver of a Ford F-250 was headed north on Terrace Avenue near Kipp Avenue when the ambulance came up behind shortly before 4:30 p.m., Detective Lt. Michael Colaneri Jr. said. The Ford, which has large mirrors, “didn’t pull over completely,” Colaneri said. Overturned Tractor-Trailer Carrying Mulch Shuts Route 80 Exit Ramp In Paterson
An overturned tractor-trailer closed a Route 80 exit ramp in Paterson Tuesday morning. The driver of the truck carrying mulch escaped uninjured after it overturned on the ramp to Exit 60 northbound around 8:05 a.m., New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The ramp remained closed as of 11:05 a.m. for clean up, Goez said.

Pedestrian, 84, Struck In Wyckoff
An 84-year-old Wyckoff woman was hospitalized with injuries that authorities didn't consider life-threatening after she was struck at a busy intersection around noon. The 57-year-old Waldwick driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation after her 2018 Ford Edge struck the victim around 11:50 a.m., Lt. Joseph Soto said. No summonses were immediately issued, he said. The Wyckoff Police Traffic Bureau was investigating. The Wyckoff Ambulance Corps and paramedics from The Valley Hospital responded along with police.

SUV Slams Into Route 17 Furrier In Paramus, Two Seriously Injured
Two occupants sustained serious injuries and a third relatively minor ones Monday morning when an SUV crashed into the rear of a Route 17 furrier in Paramus. Another vehicle sustained minor damage when the RAV-4 barreled into Steven Corn Furs on the northbound highway near Powers Drive. Two rigs from the Paramus Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded, along with one from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and paramedics from Hackensack University Medical. Boyd A. Dump Truck Hits Hawthorne Guardrail
A dump truck crashed into a guardrail on North Watchung and Rea avenues in Hawthorne Friday. No injuries were reported. North Haledon and Hawthorne police both responded. Last month, a dump truck crashed into a Hawthorne home on Sunrise Drive.

Car Falls Over Wall Next To Paterson Checkers
A motorist claimed he accidentally left his car in drive before it rolled through a fence and over a short wall next to a Checkers in Paterson, witnesses said. Another vehicle had its rear windshield smashed in the Friday night mishap at the West Broadway/Union Avenue eatery. "Sh-t was nuts. Crazy," Escobar Jones wrote. "Everybody was good tho/safe." There was no immediate word on possible summonses.

NJ Transit Train Strikes Car On Tracks In Rockland
A driver was able to escape before a car on the tracks was struck by a train early Sunday afternoon in Rockland County. At about 1:30 p.m., the New Jersey transit train traveling to Spring Valley struck the car at the New Clarkstown Road crossing in Nanuet. The vehicle was sitting in traffic, on the tracks, when the railroad crossing gates began to come down as the train was approaching the crossing, Clarkstown Police said. Elderly Driver Strands Car On Median At Bergenfield Shopping Center
BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- An elderly driver with a walker crashed her car onto a median at a busy Bergenfield shopping center Friday afternoon. The woman refused to go to the hospital for an evaluation after the 2 p.m. incident at the New Bridge Shopping Plaza on New Bridge Road. Police kept her in a patrol vehicle until a loved one picked her up. Members of the Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded. The sedan was towed.

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Bergenfield police said they're investigating an incident in which a motorist downed a stop sign and nearly struck a crossing guard Wednesday afternoon. "It missed me by about two seconds," said the crossing guard, Jean Nichols of Dumont. "Everything just started flying around me." Clifton Jumper OK After Landing On Garden State Parkway
CLIFTON, N.J. -- A man sustained minor injuries after he jumped from a Clifton bridge onto the Garden State Parkway late Wednesday morning, State Police said. The man jumped just before 10:30 a.m. over the area of mile marker 156.6 on the northbound parkway, Trooper Gene Hong said. Clifton EMS took him to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. Authorities didn't immediately know the man's motive, Hong said.
