Maywood Pre-Teen Sexually Assaulted By Former Liquor Store Employee, Authorities Charge
A Maywood pre-teen was sexually assaulted more than a decade ago by a now-28-year-old Ecuadorian national, authorities charged. Luis Aucancela Barbecho, who lives in the borough, became the target of an investigation in March 2022 after Maywood police received a complaint, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said on Friday, Sept. 16. Female Diversion Trio Swipes Cash From River Edge Liquor Store
RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- Three women in baseball caps fled with a "large amount" of cash from the register of a popular River Edge liquor store after distracting the cashier, the company said. The trio entered Total Wine & More at 7:35 p.m. on Dec. 29 and immediately got in a checkout line, the company's loss prevention department said.
