Drunk Man Shot For Leaning On Car In Elizabeth: PD A very drunk man was shot outside of an Elizabeth parking lot because another man was upset he was leaning on his car, authorities said. The vehicle was parked in a lot near North Avenue on Spring Street, Elizabeth police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of his ribcage around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, April 30, and was hospitalized in stable condition. BMW Ran Red Light In Crash That Hospitalized EMTs In Elizabeth: Authorities A BMW that ran a red light struck an ambulance, sending two EMTs and a passenger in the vehicle to the hospital over the weekend in Elizabeth, authorities and sources said. The ambulance had a green light to cross Spring Street at Fairmount Avenue when it was struck by the BMS that ran the red light around 3:10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, city spokesperson Ruby Contreras said. The BMW driver was issued a summons.

Update: Teen On Scooter Struck And Killed By Truck In Elizabeth A teen riding a scooter was hit by a truck in Elizabeth Wednesday night, according to witnesses and initial reports.  The 16-year-old was struck by a tow truck at Spring Street and Elizabeth Avenue around 8 p.m. and later died, officials said.
