Tractor-Trailer Ditches Off Route 46
A tractor-trailer driver survived a crash on Route 46 in Palisades Park that nearly crushed the cab of his rig. The driver was headed west on Route 46 near the bridge over East Homestead Avenue when he veered off the road and the cab came loose as it headed partially down a wooded embankment shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4. He was taken by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. "This guy was lucky to be alive," one witness at the scene said. HEROES: A group of good Samaritans rushed to a driver's aid Thursday after his ice cream truck tumbled partly down the Palisades above the Hudson River in Fort Lee. Senior Trio Emerges Unscathed After SUV Flips In Palisades Park Crash
Three New Milford seniors all walked away without injury after their SUV was knocked through a fence and plunged several feet, landing on its roof atop a Palisades Park apartment's electrical box. The 70-year-old driver of the Honda CRV told police he’d stopped on West Palisades Boulevard and was headed across Grand Avenue when the driver of a Toyota Camry sped up, clipping the back of his vehicle.
