A Paramus man was charged with first-degree kidnapping after authorities in East Rutherford said he abducted his ex-girlfriend. Adam Sarkisian, 26, was arguing with the woman when he suddenly grabbed her by the sweatshirt, yanked her into his 2008 Dodge Charger and sped off on Oak Street around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, June 25, Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. An alert went out to area law enforcement agencies after the woman's mother dialed 911. Robbery Duo Flees Hackensack Gas Station With Hundreds In Cash
Two bandits in hoodies and ski masks fled a Hackensack gas station with nearly $500 in cash from a strong-arm robbery Sunday night, authorities said. No weapon was shown in the holdup of the Sunoco station on Polifly Road just off Routes 17 and 80 around 9:30 p.m. March 19, they said. The 31-year-old station attendant wasn't injured, police said. The robbers were last seen headed east on Lodi Street, witnesses told them. : Crow's Nest Reopens After Minor Fire
Hours after patrons celebrated St. Patrick's Day, a fire closed the Crow's Nest in Hackensack. And just like that, they reopened. "We are excited to share that we will be reopening today with normal business hours," the restaurant posted on social media on Sunday, March 19. Route 17 Crash Closes Two Lanes
A driver was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle collision on southbound Route 17 in Hackensack. The left and center lanes were temporarily closed near the exit for Hasbrouck Heights before the road splits between Routes 17 and 80 around 9:30 a.m. following the crash, which involved a Mercedes driven by the injured female motorist, an Uber driver's Honda and a crane-arm flatbed truck. Large backups immediately followed. The Mercedes driver's injuries didn't appear life-threatening, responders said.
