Fleeing Driver Crashes At Route 208 Entrance: Passaic County Sheriff
A reckless driver led Passaic County sheriff's officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash at a Route 208 on-ramp. Officers spotted the Audi sedan with New York plates being driven recklessly "without regard to any other vehicles or pedestrian on or near the road" in the area of Route 20 and Maple Avenue in Paterson shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday, Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik said. Officers pursued the sedan less than a mile to the entrance to northbound Route 208 in Fair Lawn, where it crashed, the sheriff said. Driver Wanted On Warrants Leads Route 202 Pursuit-Crash: Prosecutor
A 25-year-old woman wanted on warrants out of multiple Central Jersey towns arrested for leading a Route 202 police pursuit before crashing, authorities said. Police tried stopping Jerrie Lee Williams, of Bound Brook, around 11:05 p.m. in Branchburg when they noticed she had an expired registration, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. An Englewood police officer escaped serious injury in a crash during a pursuit, authorities confirmed. The thieves had tried to steal a vehicle in the city's East Hill section shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, Capt. Matthew de la Rosa said. The homeowner came out, however, and they fled, residents said. An Asbury Park police pursuit ended with the death of one occupant, the arrests of two others and the hospitalization of a fourth, authorities confirmed Tuesday. Multi-Vehicle Crash Ends Paterson Police Pursuit
A police pursuit ended with a multi-vehicle crash at an intersection on Paterson's east side. The crash involving a stolen Toyota Camry, an SUV and another sedan at the corner of 7th Avenue and East 26th Street near McLean Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. Friday ignited a fire in one of the vehicles. Firefighters also were needed for an extrication, responders said. At least one suspect was taken into custody, they said. There was no immediate word on possible injuries, although at least one was considered life-threatening.

Detectives Nab Bronx Pair In Violent Bergen County Carjackings

2 Dead In Montclair Police Pursuit-Crash: AG
Two people died following a pursuit involving Montclair police Tuesday, May 10 in Glen Ridge, state officials said. Two officers attempted to stop the car on Bloomfield Avenue around 4:30 a.m., but the driver took off, lost control, veered off the roadway then struck a tree, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said in a release. The driver and a passenger were pronounced dead at 9 a.m., while a third occupant was being treated for injuries, the AG's office said. This investigation is being conducted pursuant to Attorney General Directive 2019-4.
