Tree Trimmer From Norwood Airlifted After Falling Nearly 15 Feet In Old Tappan A 61-year-old Norwood man fell nearly 15 feet from a ladder while helping an Old Tappan homeowner remove a tree, authorities said. Authorities were trying to determine whether he and another man had permission to be on the property before the mishap on Dewolf Road around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26. The victim fell 12 to 15 feet while trying to cut off a portion of the tree, Old Tappan Police Chief Joseph Tracy said. Maryland Bound Plane Makes Emergency Landing In New Jersey A Maryland-bound plane made an emergency landing in New Jersey after the cockpit became filled with smoke, officials said. The single-engine Piper PA-32 departed from Norwood Regional Airport in Norwood, Mass., and was headed toward Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg, the FAA said. The plane landed safely around 11 a.m. in Teterboro after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit, authorities said.  The FAA is conducting the investigation.
