: Mugshot Released Of Ex-College Soccer Star Accused In Brother's Princeton Murder
Daily Voice has exclusively obtained the mugshot of 31-year-old Matthew Hertgen, a former Wesleyan University soccer player accused of murder in his brother Joseph Hertgen's death. Hertgen's charges were announced Monday, Feb. 24, by Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, following the Saturday, Feb. 22 death of 26-year-old Joseph Hertgen in Princeton. A 24-year-old Fort Lee resident was arrested and charged after he fatally struck a pedestrian in North Bergen on Monday, Feb. 10 and fled the scene, authorities said. Around 6 a.m., police responded to a pedestrian struck at Tonnelle Avenue and 91st Street and found Nestor Naira-Ojeda, a 52-year-old North Bergen resident, who was pronounced dead at the scene after he was pinned against a guardrail, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez and authorities said. A 22-year-old Bergen County man was arrested last month after making swatting calls to police in Florida, authorities said. Maywood PD In August 2024, officers in south Florida responded to reports of shootings at two different residences, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. One call said a person was shot in the chest and being held hostage, while another call said the caller, later identified as Justin Flavien, shot his sister, authorities said. A registered sex offender who escaped from custody while being transported in Newark last week has been apprehended, authorities said. Nicholas Voutsas, 25, had escaped from a New Jersey Department of Health medical transport van while en route to a hospital, New Jersey State Police said. Police approached Voutsas at a homeless shelter for men in Brooklyn and he immediately tried to flee, NBC New York reported.
