Sudden Death Of NJ District's Former Superintendent Spreads Shock, Sadness
A New Jersey school district is mourning the loss of its former superintendent.
Miguel Hernandez, 58, was currently serving as interim assistant principal at Manchester Regional High School in Passaic County, after retiring as superintendent in 2021. He died on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 58.
In response to Hernandez's passing, the school district held an early dismissal on Monday, Nov. 13.

A Monmouth County couple is facing charges after their dog allegedly acted aggressively toward a resident and prompted an officer to shoot the dog, authorities said (scroll for video).
Alexyss Ferrara, 29, and Angel Velez Jr, 34, both of Keyport, have been charged with possessing a dangerous dog and multiple violations of local ordinances in regards to an incident Saturday, Oct. 22 involving their dog Blaze, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

A New Jersey man was ejected from a Jeep and killed by a drunk driver in New Hampshire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Sue Sargent, 66, was behind the wheel of a 2020 Subaru Outback on Route 95 south in Seabrook, NH when she drifted toward the left, crossed into the next lane and sideswiped a 2019 Toyota Sienna driven by Shannon Geoghegan, 50, just before 12:10 p.m., state police said.
