Beloved North Jersey native and “force to be reckoned with” Amber Stefanie Takesh died following an incredibly brave battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on Thursday, Oct. 6. She was 24. A native of Montville, Amber graduated from Montville High School in 2016, her obituary says. Raised in Ringwood, Nicole graduated from Lakeland High School before attending the University of Tampa and earning her bachelor’s degree from William Paterson University, according to her obituary. No one was injured when a vehicle driven by an 88-year-old man hit the front of the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, police said. The 88-year-old driver from the Rockland County town of West Haverstraw, NY, told police his foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas while he was in the drop-off lane around 6 p.m. Wednesday, city Police Lt. Park Ridge firefighters proudly presented a $3,000 check to the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center toward the research and treatment of breast cancer.
