Paramus Schools Chief Reaches Out To Parents After Judge Releases Fatal Bus Crash Video
Paramus district officials immediately reached out to parents after learning that a judge ordered New Jersey State Police to release a traffic camera video of a May bus crash that killed a borough middle school student and one of her teachers. Daily Voice won't be publishing the video out of concern for its readers. Gannett Co., the parent company of NorthJersey.com., sued for access to the video -- recorded by a state Department of Transportation traffic camera -- after State Police refused. Paramus Schools Chief: We Didn't Know Crash Driver Had Moving Violations
Paramus Schools Supt. Michele Robinson insisted the district wasn't aware that the school bus driver involved in a crash that killed a middle school student and teacher last month had an extensive history of violations behind the wheel. She also demanded that North Jersey Media Group publish a correction to “blatantly inaccurate” reporting. “As I have said repeatedly, we do not have any information from the state that [Hudy] Muldrow [Sr.] had any moving violations,” Robinson wrote in a letter to parents. “The driving abstract provided to us by the Motor Vehicle Commission did not reflect t…

Family Of Girl Killed In Paramus School Bus Crash To Sue District
The family of the middle schooler killed in last week's Route 80 bus crash has filed a complaint against Paramus and its board of education, the New York Post reports. The complaint from 10-year-old Miranda Vargas' family was filed after it came to light that driver Hudy Muldrow Sr., 77, had his license suspended 14 times, the article says. “Having learned the last few days of the driving record that Mr. Muldrow has and that the Paramus Board of Education had him driving children has caused them to be even more distraught,” the family's attorney, David Fried, said Friday outside of the Morr…

Driver In Fatal Paramus School Bus Crash Charged With Death By Auto
Authorities have filed death-by-auto charges against the 77-year-old school bus driver in a Route 80 crash that killed a Paramus middle school student and one of her teachers last week. If convicted of the two vehicular homicide counts, Hudy Muldrow Sr. of Woodland Park could face five to 10 years in state prison, 85% of which he’d have to serve before being eligible for parole. A detention hearing was scheduled for Friday in Morristown for Muldrow, who, records show, has been cited for speeding eight times and had his driver’s license suspended several others. Muldrow was transporting 44 …
