Two-Family Home Deemed Unstable After Pickup Crash In North Arlington
Building inspectors deemed a two-family house in North Arlington uninhabitable after a pickup truck slammed into it early Monday evening. There was no immediate word on the condition of the driver whose GMC Sierra plowed into the foundation and garage of the corner house on Bogle Avenue at River Road just south of the Lyndhurst border around 5 p.m. May 8. North Arlington police, firefighters and EMS responded. Sussex County Jeep Driver, 18, Dead In Crash
An 18-year-old Jeep driver died in a Sussex County crash early Sunday morning. The crash occurred at the intersection of County Routes 519 and 650 in Wantage around 1:30 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said. Jonathan Fett of Wantage, was behind the wheel of a Jeep Grand Cherokee going west on 650 when he was struck by a GMC Sierra going north on 519, the sergeant said. Fett was killed while the 42-year-old GMC driver and his adult passenger were uninjured. More than $3,000 had been raised for the Fett family on a GoFundMe as of Sunday afternoon. : Hackensack Firefighter Helps Resuscitate Rochelle Park Trucker In Route 80 Crash
An off-duty Hackensack firefighter pulled a local driver through the window of a pickup truck and helped resuscitate him following a crash on Route 80 in Elmwood Park, authorities said. The driver's GMC Sierra struck three other vehicles before slamming into the concrete divider on the westbound highway around 3:45 p.m., State Police said. Deputy Chief John Taylor was headed home when he pulled over, broke the back window of the pickup and, with the help of two other motorists, got the 63-year-old victim from Rochelle Park out and onto the roadway.
