Woman Dead, 2 Hurt In Sussex County Jeep Crash Caused By Deer: Police
A 19-year-old woman was killed and two others were hurt after a deer caused a crash on Route 94 in Sussex County Sunday night, state police said.
Jesse Manno, 33, of Branchville, was driving a Jeep Wrangler on Route 94 southbound when he hit a deer and veered into the northbound lanes near milepost 15.1 in Fredon just after 10:25 p.m., NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan told DailyVoice.com.
The front of the Jeep crashed into a grass embankment and a Honda Civic driven by Alexander W. Schwenke, 18, of Johnsonburg, along with passenger Zoey C. McClain, 19, of Knowlton.

Guilty: Sussex County Resident Admits Harassing 13-Year-Old Girl On Social Media
A Sussex County resident admitted in court to harassing a 13-year-old girl on social media, authorities announced.
Elizabeth A. Hogoboom-Szluka, 45, pleaded guilty to cyber-harassment in Sussex County court, Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said in a release on Wednesday, June 29.
Hogoboom-Szluka, of Branchville, admitted to sending “indecent or lewd” comments to the 13-year-old girl on social media with the intention of harassing her, Koch said.
Hogoboom-Szluka is scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Guilty: Sussex County Man, 47, Admits Attempted Sex Assault Of Teen
A Sussex County man admitted in court to trying to sexually assault a teen he had been talking to over text messages, authorities said.
Daniel M. Szluka, 47, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted sexual assault at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton on Friday, May 13, Prosecutor Francis A. Koch said in a release on Tuesday, May 17.
Szluka, of Branchville, tried to have the victim — aged between 13 and 16 — “engage in sexual penetration at his direction during text conversations,” Koch said.
Szluka is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, August 5.

Lifelong Sussex County resident and beloved carpenter James L. Muller died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 9. He was 32.
Born in Newton, James attended High Point Regional High School and lived in Branchville at the time of his death, his obituary and social media pages say.
