Palisades Park Officer Struck By Passing Vehicle Recovering From Broken Bones A Palisades Park police officer suffered a cracked clavicle and several broken ribs when a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Elmwood Park resident struck him as he responded to another crash, responders said. The officer was struck by a passing 2024 Honda CRV at 5th Street and East Brinkerhoff Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, Lt. George Beck said. Sources said the officer was directing traffic when the impatient SUV driver slammed into a vehicle that hit the officer. A medical chopper was requested and then canceled.
