The tournament helped raise money for Ryan's Buddies, a local group dedicated to fighting and raising awareness about Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

SMA is a genetic neuromuscular disease that destroys the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement. Crawling, walking, head and neck control, eating, breathing and swallowing are severely affected. It is the number one genetic killer of infants and young children.

Ryan's Buddies was formed by the Rosenbower family to honor Ryan James Reilly, who passed away from SMA in 2012.
