SHOUT OUT: The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee is assembling a team of more than 15,000 volunteers willing to donate their time as host ambassadors.
Volunteers will represent the region by meeting and greeting visitors at airports, transit hubs, and hotels in both NY and NJ, lending a hand to game visitors and assisting at special events on both sides of the Hudson from Sunday Jan. 26 to Feb. 3, the day after the game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
Thed committee is looking for people “who are interested in sharing their knowledge of the region, are proud of our region’s legacy, and are willing to contribute their time and enthusiasm for the good of the entire region will be perfect matches,” said Maureen McCormick of the Volunteer Center of Bergen County.
A minimum contribution of two volunteer shifts of four hours each is required, but individuals may sign up for more shifts.
Volunteers will be given uniforms they get to keep.
There will be several volunteer training sessions in November in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends in both states. Volunteers must attend one of the three-hour sessions to receive basic instruction and information to share with guests of Super Bowl week.
