Three hospitalized after East Rutherford ambulance crashes in Hasbrouck Heights

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: No serious injuries were reported after an East Rutherford ambulance taking a juvenile patient accompanied by a parent to the hospital was involved in a crash on northbound Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights early this evening.

A Hasbrouck Heights ambulance took the driver and both occupants to the hospital following the crash outside the Sonic drive-in near Franklin Avenue, Detective Lt. Michael Colaneri told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The driver of the other car refused medical attention, he said.

Lenox Auto Body towed both vehicles.

Another crash occurred on Terrace and Williams Avenue involving the tow truck headed to the scene — creating tie-ups on both sides of the highway, Colaneri said.

Hasbrouck Heights police were investigating both, he said.
