The trooper stepped in after Daniel William Haines, 23, began scuffling with a security guard who was escorting him out of the game for "disorderly behavior" around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, about an hour after kickoff of the Jets game against the Dolphins, NJSP Sgt. Jeff Flynn told Daily Voice.

The 5-foot-7-inch, 145-pound Haines "resisted arrest and tried to take the trooper's gun" but was unsuccessful, he said.

He posted $25,000 bail hours later and was released from the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing on charges of assault on police, resisting arrest and trying to disarm a police officer.
