Port Authority officers called by Rutherford police intercept suicidal man at GWB

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Port Authority police alerted by Rutherford police found a 50-year-old suicidal man near the George Washington Bridge this morning and had him taken for a psychiatric evaluation.

An EMS unit took the man to nearby New York-Presbyterian Hospital after PAPD officers found him at 178th Street and Fort Washington Avenue, nearly a block from the bridge, at 7:30 a.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

He was wearing a New York Yankees t-shirt and blue jeans.
