New East Rutherford Police Officer Graduates From Academy

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New East Rutherford Police Officer William Zito was graduated from the Bergen County Police Academy on Thursday.

The borough native, who was sworn in on Jan. 20, becomes the 37th member of the department.

"I am so proud to see Billy graduate," Police Commissioner told Daily Voice. "It was a privilege to hire him. I look forward to seeing him on the road. He will be a great addition to the force. " 

Zito, 30, served in the US Navy for five years before becoming a police officer.
