OVERNIGHT: Power surges to a deep fryer ignited a fire that was contained to a kitchen area, with a minor extension to a duct, at the Lyndhurst Burger King last night.

Firefighters were investigating several power-related incidents when the Park Avenue call came in at 10:52 p.m., Lyndhurst Fire Chief Paul Haggerty Jr. told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

No one was injured, he said.

North Arlington provided the FAST team and Rutherford an engine company to cover additional calls created by several power surges.

“The establishment has been red-tagged by the fire official and construction official until the necessary electrical repairs are made and the Bergen County Health Department evaluates the conditions,” Haggerty said.
