Both came up to her as she walked on Vanderburgh Avenue near West Erie Avenue around 10:25 p.m., the girl said.

After first walking past her, they came up behind and threatened "physical harm" if she didn't give them her purse, containing money, debit and gift cards, identification and keys, she said. So she did.

She said they then ran to a waiting four-door sedan that then took off on Monona Avenue.

The girl described both as light-skinned Hispanics with thin builds, about 5-foot-10 each with buzz-cut hair. One had a scruffy beard and was wearing a black tank top and tan boots, while the other had on red basketball short, a black t-shirt and black sneakers.

Rutherford police didn't say whether they had witnesses or surveillance images from the area.

They did ask that anyone with information that could help the investigation call them: (201) 939-6000.
