Concert Scrooge leaves fans with worthless Dayglow tickets

ONLY ON CLIFFVIEW PILOT: Two Fair Lawn men had their Christmas Eve presents to themselves “stolen” when tickets to a sold-out Dayglow concert in Manhattan turned out to be leftovers from a show last year.

Each met the seller at separate locations, one in Glen Rock and the other in Rutherford, after finding the tickets for the world’s largest paint party, at Pier 94 in New York this Sunday night on Craiglist, Fair Lawn Sgt. Richard E. Schultz said.

Both in their 20s, the men paid $125 each for what they told were tickets obtained from the Ticketfly website, he said.

“Only when the residents had contacted Ticketfly did they learn that both were fraudulent” and had been printed for a Hammerstein Ballroom concert a year ago.

Dayglow is a unique performance that includes DJs spinning techno, video screens, smoke machines, aerial acts, contortionists — and washable, non-toxic paint sprayed on the crowd from cannon-like tubes:

It began five years ago on college campuses in Florida, then was rigged into a unique experience that now tours the world. All 50 dates on the “Blu” tour — hitting college towns across the country — quickly sold out.

A counter running on the Dayglow website prominently shows milliseconds ticking off to this weekend’s concert at Pier 94, on the West Side Highway at 55th Street, hyping the anticipation among young adults.

Fair Lawn police warn customers to buy only from reputable buyers and to verify their tickets to any event are genuine BEFORE buying them.
