Bomb threat unfounded at Verizon building on Route 17 in Rutherford

UPDATE: The Bergen County Police Department’s Bomb Squad and K9 unit gave the all-clear after responding to a bomb threat at the Verizon building on Route 17 in Rutherford early this evening.

Several emergency service agencies responded to 201 Route 17N just before 5 p.m.

They declared the building safe a little over 90 minutes later, BCPD Capt. James Mullin told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“It was just a threat — nothing else,” he said.
