The Celebrity Carpet Company employee told police he’d gotten into an argument with 25-year-old Luis Larios of 40th Street last Wednesday, Police Chief Thomas Nielsen said.

When he wasn’t looking, the victim said, Larios hit him with closed fist in the back of the head.

Police responding to the Commercial Avenue business found the unconscious man with head and facial injuries, Nielsen said.

He also had convulsions and memory loss, the chief said.

Larios has remained held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail since his arrest Friday on charges of aggravated assault and endangering an injured victim.

A Municipal Court first appearance was scheduled for Aug. 7.
