Reginald F. Preli, 87, Carlstadt Resident

CARLSTADT, N.J. – Reginald F. Preli, born in and a lifelong resident of Carlstadt, died Saturday, June 4. He was 87.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a crossing guard for the Borough of Carlstadt for five years and retired in 2008. Prior, he was the borough mechanic for the Carlstadt DPW for more than 10 years. He was a former member of the recycling committee.

He was the father of Reggie J. Preli and his wife, Penny, and Toni A. Hankins; grandfather of Kristen Hankins and Zachary Hankins; great-grandfather of Logan Knorr; and brother of John Preli and Yvonne Foytlin.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ann (Stevens) Preli; and sister, Ruth Subda.

Visitation will take place from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., Carlstadt. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kimak Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
