RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rutherford residents can pay their taxes online this year, either by credit card or payments from a checking account.
The option is presently prominently listed on the borough website, and it will be listed on the tax collector's and department of finance pages. The direct link is here.
There are fees to use the service: $1 for an e-check payment and a 2.45 percent fee on credit card payments, with a $3 minimum fee. Payments must also be made by 4:15 p.m. on a given day to be credited that day, or late payments will be applied if they're relevant.
Residents can still pay in person at Borough Hall, by either cash or check, or through the mail.
