RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Rutherford Community Blood Bank had a successful turnout at its Nov. 2 blood drive.
Forty-seven volunteers had their blood taken to help bolster the bank's reserves in honor of former mayor Andrew E. Bertone.
“Andy has always recognized the need for pitching in to make our town great place to live,” Frank Tidona, blood bank secretary-treasurer said in a statement. “His participation and leadership demonstrate the dedication required to make the work of the blood bank possible.”
The drive was held at the Kip Center in Rutherford.
