The JM & KM Wealth Management partner says he has helped more than 1,000 people retire successfully throughout his career.
"People don't understand that they are going to be retiring and they are going to have to rely on the ups and downs of the market for a good 30 years," Merklinghaus, 56, told Daily Voice.
"Those years are exactly when you will put your portfolio to the test because you will have no deposits going in," he said.
The176-page book is Merklinghaus' first author credit and is available on Amazon.
"It feels good to contribute to the book because I want to help people actually understand that there is an alternate philosophy for how you can retire safely without risking your nest egg," he said.
