Mazzaro, a professional baseball pitcher who was raised in Rutherford, turns 30 on Tuesday.
Born Sept. 27, 1986, Mazzaro began playing baseball for Rutherford High School, where he led the team to two straight state championships.
He made his Major League debut in 2009 with the Oakland Athletics, and has played for the Kansas City Royals, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Miami Marlins.
In July 2015, Mazzaro signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves.
