The Lion In Winter Plays Tonight At Felician College

RUTHERFORD, NJ -- Felician College and 12 Miles West actors equity theatre company will perform “The Lion in Winter” beginning with Opening NIght Friday, Nov. 6 and running for three weeks with nine great shows: November 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21.

Sunday, Nov. 8 is a matinee (3 p.m.). All other shows begin at 8 p.m. in the Little Theater on the college’s Rutherford campus, 230 Montross Ave.

“The Lion in Winter” has been called “a timeless classic.” It’s the story of the extreme personal and political conflicts of Henry II of England, considered the first British king, his wife Eleanor of Aquitaine, their children and guests during Christmas 1183. Written by James Goldman, it was first performed on Broadway in March, 1966.

The Tony-winning Broadway premiere starred Rosemary Harris and Robert Preston. It was also an Academy Award winning 1968 film starring Katharine Hepburn and Peter O’Toole.
