Teen participants will search the library for the hidden codes, scan them by downloading a scanning app such as “Quick Scan” or “QR Code Reader & Barcode Scanner” to their smartphone or tablet.

The hidden codes spell out a message that the teens must finish and relay to YA and Children’s Librarian Maria Russo.

The first teen to figure out the message will win a gift card to Starbucks. This program is open to tweens and teens of East Rutherford. Participants could work in groups and share in the winnings. Clues as to where the codes are hidden will be available at the front circulation desk.
