High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s and ozone is forecast to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups across New Jersey. Sensitive individuals including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the afternoon and early evening hours.
The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management also Tweeted out a warning about the heat and air quality today:
It's a hot one! Stay cool & hydrated. Check on those vulnerable to the heat too! #ReadyNJ #petsafety #beattheheat #staycool – @REadyNJ
Temperatures are supposed to cool off a bit on Wednesday with highs in the low 80s.
