: Boy, 3, Who Stopped Breathing At Wyckoff YMCA Revived By Police
A 3-year-old boy who'd stopped breathing and was turning blue at the Wyckoff YMCA was revived Friday by a pair of police officers, authorities said. YMCA staff were tending to the boy, who "was unresponsive and cyanotic" when Officers Robert Schlossberg and Michael Scalise around 12:30 p.m., Lt. Joseph Soto said. The officer conducted CPR while clearing the boy's airway of obstructions, Soto said. Lifelong Friends Make Rutherford Pool Reopening Happen
Two best friends and lifelong Rutherford residents joined forces to save the town’s historic community pool after it had been shut down. Thanks to Mike Lazzara, and Chris Dunn, Rutherford's community pool reopened Tuesday with COVID-19 guidelines in place. Lazzara, 29, and Dunn, 27, dreamed of starting their own aquatics program even as children. Car Slams Into Others On First Day Of Wyckoff YMCA Summer Camp
No one was injured when a compact car driven by a 77-year-old Fair Lawn man careened out of control in the busy Wyckoff YMCA parking lot Monday -- on a busy first day of summer camp, authorities said. Emergency responders rushed to what originally was a call of a car hitting the building, Lt. Joseph Soto said. “A lot of people were dropping off their kids at the time,” Soto said.
