Bergen County Regional School District Appoints New Superintendent: Meet Dr. Patrick McQueeney
The Westwood Regional Public School District has appointed a new superintendent. Dr. Patrick McQueeney, who has been serving as the leader of Wanaque schools since 2021, will helm the Westwood Regional School District (WWRSD) come November. The move was approved at the Thursday, Sept. 26 WWRSD Board of Ed (BoE) meeting. The nine-member board voted 8-0, with one abstention, to execute a contract with McQueeney, asking him to take the lead as soon as possible, but no later than Nov. 27. A Bergen County high school recently ranked the best America and an elite prep school have both switched to remote learning after individuals tested positive for Coronavirus. Don Bosco Prep has cancelled athletic events and went remote Wednesday, after two students tested positive. A switch to remote learning was the move for more schools in Bergen and Passaic counties due to COVID-19. At least two individuals tested positive at Northern Highlands Regional High School, which switched to virtual instruction on Thursday, Oct. 22. Another Bergen County high school has switched to remote learning after one individual returned a positive COVID-19 test. A non-teaching staff member at the Park Ridge Junior-Senior High School returned a positive rapid test according to a letter from officials sent Oct. 13.
