Hackensack Firefighters Free Driver In Crash Hackensack firefighters extricated an SUV driver in a two-vehicle crash Monday that sent a sedan into a fire hydrant. The freed driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that responders said didn't appear life-threatening in the crash at Prospect Avenue and Clinton Place around 1 p.m. The vehicles had to be towed. The hydrant also required repair. City police were investigating.

Orange Police Captain In Critical Condition After Crash Officials in Orange cancelled the township council meeting Monday night out of respect for Capt. William Boggier, who suffered serious injuries in a vehicle crash earlier in the day.  A city spokesman said Tuesday morning that Boggier was in the ICU at University Hospital in Newark. The accident occurred at 2:39 a.m., when Jose R. Rivera, 19 of Lyndhurst, drove his 2006 Audi AA8 off the side of the Ocean Township roadway, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J.
