An Elizabeth man who fled the country after committing a fatal drive-by shooting in the city seven years ago was sentenced Thursday to 60 years in prison, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Eslam Gad was found guilty of murdering 21-year-old Anthony Holmes Jr. in June. Holmes, of Pemberton, was with friends and family at 3rd and Pine streets on Aug. 8, 2012 when someone in a Ford Mustang drove up and opened fire. Several Elizabeth Sex Offenders Arrested For Failing To Register: Prosecutor
A total of 14 people, almost all of them Elizabeth residents, were arrested in a crackdown on convicted sex offenders who failed to comply with reporting requirements under Meghan's Law, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday. Rahway Man Gets 13 Years For Selling Deadly Crack-Fentanyl Cocktail
A Rahway drug dealer who sold a lethal cocktail of narcotics that killed at least three people was sentenced Tuesday to 13 years in state prison, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said. George Rayford, 39, must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Rayford sold crack cocaine laced with fentanyl from his Whelan Place home on Dec. 22, 2017. Fentanyl is an opioid several times more potent than heroin. Suspected Shooter From Elizabeth Who Fled U.S. Found Guilty Of Murder
An Elizabeth man Friday was convicted on all charges stemming from a shooting seven years ago that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Pemberton resident, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said. On Aug. 8, 2012, Anthony Holmes Jr. was with friends and family near 3rd and Pine streets when someone in a Ford Mustang drove up and opened fire.
