New Jersey authorities have dropped a case against a correctional police officer who'd been accused of hiding his membership in two outlaw motorcycle gangs. Ruben Morales, who worked at the state prison in Newark, had also been accused of hiding a food truck business he worked on the side. Car Thief Kills One Person, Hurts 3 In Wild Central Jersey Pursuit: AG
A car thief being pursued by police crashed into several civilian vehicles killing one person and hurting three others overnight in Central Jersey, authorities said. A Marlboro officer was pursuing the car stolen from a local home when it struck unrelated civilian vehicles around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Route 9 South, the State Attorney General's office said. AG: 39-Year-Old Man Shot, Killed By Newark Police Officer
A 39-year-old man was shot and killed by a Newark police officer on New Year's Eve, state authorities said. The incident occurred near South 11th Street and Woodland Avenue just after midnight, State Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. The man and the officer's identities were temporarily being withheld. Broker From Livingston Gets 3 Years For Stealing $270K From Elderly Couple
An investment broker from Livingston was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for stealing more than $270,000 from an elderly couple he befriended, the state Attorney General's office said.
