Fire Routs Residents Of Ridgewood Two-Family
All of the occupants of a two-family house in Ridgewood got out OK after a fire ignited in the attic. It will likely be awhile before they'll be able to return, however. The smoky blaze broke out in the 2½-story wood-frame house on Walton Street off South Maple Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4. Three-Vehicle Collision Sends Minivan Into Pole In Ridgewood
A driver was injured in a three-vehicle collision in Ridgewood. A Kia minivan slammed head-on into a utility pole and an Audi A4 collided with both the minivan and a Honda Accord on South Maple Avenue at Dayton Street shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. Ridgewood EMS took the minivan driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Both sedan drivers declined medical attention. Audi collided with both vehicles on South Maple Avenue in Ridgewood.Boyd A. Crash Sends Jeep Into Ridgewood Building
A Monday morning crash in Ridgewood sent a Jeep into the front of an office building. Both drivers sustained injuries in the collision at the intersection of Dayton Street and South Maple Avenue that responders said didn't appear life-threatening. Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS responded. A flatbed tow truck removed both vehicles from the scene. Damage to the office building appeared cosmetic only. Boyd A. Ridgewood PD: Brooklyn Woman Tried To Pass Bogus Benjamin, Gave Them Fake Name
Police nabbed a Brooklyn woman who they said tried to pass a counterfeit hundred-dollar bill at a Ridgewood pizzeria and then gave them a fake name when they stopped her. With help from their Glen Rock colleagues, village officers responding to the call from the South Maple Avenue pizza shop stopped an Infiniti sedan with four occupants early Monday evening. They took Kayla Jones, 30, into custody on charges of forgery, possession of a hypodermic needle and paraphernalia and hindering arrest, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. She was released pending court action.

Armored Car Crashes In Ridgewood
An armored car driver was hospitalized with a leg injury Saturday after the rig clipped two utility poles and struck a tree in Ridgewood. Several armed security guards and uniformed police officers stood by as currency the rig was carrying was transferred to another after the incident in the 300 block of South Maple Avenue. Village police, firefighters and EMS responded. The driver was taken to The Valley Hospital. A heavy-duty wrecker removed the demolished vehicle as traffic was detoured from the scene. Boyd A. Sedan, SUV Collide in Ridgewood, Summons Issued
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- An injury-free crash in Ridgewood late Friday afternoon left one motorist with a summons. Both vehicles were towed from the corner of Dayton Street and South Maple Avenue. Police and firefighters responded. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this report.

Ridgewood Girl, 4, Found Wandering In Snow Slipped Off From Siblings
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- More than a half-dozen Ridgewood police officers who went on a door-to-door search after a toddler walked off from home Wednesday morning found the girl wandering in the snow. The 4-year-old girl's parents had gone shopping and left her asleep with her teenage siblings, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. "Unbeknownst to her siblings, when the 4-year-old awoke, she decided to put on her jacket and boots and go look for her parents," the chief said.
