Watch: Thousands Gather In Sussex County For Funeral Of Turkish Dissident Fethullah Gulen
Hundreds of people gathered at Skylands Ballpark for the funeral of Fethullah Gulen, a prominent Turkish Muslim cleric, who inspired a movement in his native country, on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The funeral in Frankford Township caused delays in the area, with Sussex County Sheriff Michael Strada asking drivers to avoid the intersections of Route 15, 206, 565 and the surrounding area during the funeral.
Gulen's official X account said that an estimated 20,000 people were inside and outside of the ballpark for this funeral. The stadium has 4,200 seats, the website says.

Motorcyclist, 26, Killed In Route 206 Crash Had Recently Lost His Dad, Family Says
Tragedy has struck twice for the Nelson family.
Daniel Joseph Nelson, of Skillman, died in a crash on Route 206 on Dec. 1 — nearly three months after losing his father, Dan Nelson. He was 26 years old.
According to a GoFundMe page, Danny's father had died in August. "The two of them were best friends," his sister Alyssa wrote. "They did just about everything together, which made the passing extremely hard for Daniel."

Bada Bean Cawfee, a coffee shop inspired by hit HBO show "The Sopranos," is opening four New Jersey locations.
Woodbridge native and entrepreneur Drew Adelman is teaming up with Peter Pannullo, of Holmdel, to bring Bada Bean to Woodbrige, Toms River, Montgomery and Newark.
Their first store -- which was seasonal only -- opened on the Seaside boardwalk in 2018, but has since closed to focus on year-round shops.

A 72-year-old Sussex County woman suffered hip and back injuries, and chipped a tooth, when a local ShopRite employee lost control of carts that slammed into her, a lawsuit alleges.
Joy Prunty, 72, was waiting in the checkout line at the Byram Township store on Route 206 when a worker hit her hip with a "stack of wheeled shopping basket carts" on July 20, 2018, the suit alleges, according to NJ.com.
Prunty, of Stanhope, experienced substantial pain in her hip and back as a result of the incident, even causing her to clench her jaw to the point where she chipped a tooth, the suit says. …

A Passaic County woman had been drinking when she ran over a person several times with her car in a Sussex County parking lot, said authorities who charged her.
Jacqueline Lowe, 22, of Pompton Lakes, was being held in the Sussex County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, assault by auto, weapon possession and more, stemming from the Sunday incident in a bar parking lot, Andover police said in a news release.

Boy, 2, Fatally Struck By Dump Truck In Sussex County
A 2-year-old boy was fatally struck by a dump truck in Stanhope Monday morning, authorities said.

Responding Stanhope and Byram officers found two passing drivers conducting CPR on the toddler around 10:40 a.m., on Route 206 northbound near Acorn Street, Stanhope Police Sgt. William Heater said.
Police assisted with CPR until the Lakeland Emergency Squad arrived and took the boy to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Heater said.
