Money For Nothing? Bergen Detectives Bust NY State Duo With $155K Secret Stash
Two New York State men went to great lengths to stash $155,000 in cash that Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives sniffed out and seized, authorities said.
Rochester residents Luis J. Hernandez-Perez, 23, and Jose A. Perez-Perez, 20, will have to prove there was nothing skanky about a “sophisticated, electronically operated hidden compartment” that Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said members of his Narcotic Task Force found during a traffic stop on Wednesday, May 17.

Blake Herdlein Of Greenwich Township Dies, 26
Former New Jersey resident and Temple University graduate Blake Herdlein died on Thursday, March 9. He was 26 years old.
A Rochester, NY native, Blake grew up in Greenwich Township, having attended Greenwich Elementary School, Stewartsville Middle School, Bethlehem Catholic High School, Phillipsburg High School, and Warren County Community College, his obituary says.
Blake went on to graduate from Temple University's Fox School of Business, before opening his own marketing firm, Herdlein, LLC.

CT Man Caught With Car Stolen Out Of NY After Parking Illegally, Says Lyndhurst PD
A Connecticut man was arrested after a Lyndhurst police officer found him behind the wheel of a car stolen in New York State, authorities said.
Officer Mark Rivera was doing commercial property checks on and around Chubb Avenue when he spotted the Volkswagen Jetta in a "No Parking Anytime" zone.
Seeing him, the driver -- identified as Maxwell Abankwah, 48, of Glastonbury, CT -- abruptly pulled away, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said.
A check of the license plate showed the car had been reported stolen out of Rochester, NY, Auteri said.

Numbers continue rising of drivers found with drugs or outstanding warrants after being stopped on Route 208, say Franklin Lakes police who’ve been arresting them.

Officer Eric Rosado arrested 24-year-old Chadwick Quinones of Hewitt for possession of heroin around 9:45 p.m. Monday.
