Driver Hospitalized In Ridgewood Crash A driver escaped serious injury in a multi-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon in Ridgewood. Village firefighters popped a door to free him from his Mercury Mountaineer after it collided with a Toyota Rav4 hybrid at the corner of Fairmount and Hillcrest Road, outside the Upper Ridgewood Community Church, around 4:30 p.m. A Ridgewood EMS unit took him to The Valley Hospital as a precaution. Unconfirmed reports were that another vehicle may have been involved in the afternoon crash with the Honda CR-V just off Route 17. Both occupants of the Volkswagen refused medical treatment after Sunday afternoon's crash along Garber Square near the underpass for New Jersey Transit's Bergen/Main Line. Ridgewood police, firefighters and EMS responded. Firefighters cleaned up a fuel spill, along with loose wiring from the damaged street lamp. BMW Snaps Ridgewood Utility Pole A driver escaped serious injury when her BMW sedan took out a utility pole and damaged the base of a light post Friday morning in Ridgewood. Ridgewood EMS took her to The Valley Hospital following the crash on West Ridgewood Avenue. The street was partially closed for several hours while utility crews tended to the pole. Ridgewood police and firefighters also responded.

Both drivers sustained injuries in the collision at the intersection of Dayton Street and South Maple Avenue that responders said didn't appear life-threatening. Three Injured In Separate Route 17 Crashes Three people were injured in separate Thursday morning crashes on either side of Route 17 in Ho-Ho-Kus. The first occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. and the next about a half-hour later, both near Hollywood Avenue. Two people were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Their conditions couldn't immediately be determined. Traffic was jammed on either side of the highway. Responding were Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood and Saddle River police, Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters and Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood EMS. Boyd A. Loving took the photo and provided the information.

Medical Episode Sends Sedan Barreling Into Ridgewood Backyard A driver was hospitalized with injuries that responders didn’t consider life-threatening after his sedan barreled into a Ridgewood backyard Monday night. Village firefighters used a chain saw to create an opening so that a flatbed tow truck could remove the four-door Buick from behind the Rock Road home. An ambulance took the driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Assisting were police from Fair Lawn, Glen Rock and Hawthorne, along with Ridgewood EMS.

Out-Of-Control Dump Truck Crashes Into Ridgewood Backyard Play Set No one was injured after an out-of-control landscaping dump truck careened down an embankment and into a children’s backyard playset in Ridgewood on Wednesday. The Abma’s Landscaping driver lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway at Beechwood Road and Palmer Court, then headed down the embankment, over a retaining wall and into the playset in a neighboring yard. A heavy duty tow truck with a hydraulic crane removed the truck and trailer. Ridgewood firefighters and EMS joined police at the scene. Boyd A.
