Repeat Offender Caught Shoplifting Assaults Store Employee, Breaks Glass Door: Lyndhurst PD  A 22-year-old Secaucus man who was already known to Lyndhurst police was nabbed following what began as a shoplifting and turned into a robbery, authorities said. Daniel Soto punched and then spit on an employee of a Riverside Avenue store who confronted him on Sunday, Jan. 21, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. Soto then fled the store, grabbed a rock and threw it through the store's glass door, the lieutenant said. Thanks to a description obtained by Officer Michael Carrino, Soto was seized by Lt. Officer Michael Walker found Jaquan Beard after responding to a suspicious persons call on Stuyvesant Avenue near Valley Brook Avenue, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said Monday. Walker was joined by Officer Michael LeStrange, Lt. Richard Holicki and Detective Chris Cuneo.
