Update: Historic Newark Mansion Destroyed In 3-Alarm Blaze, 2 Firefighters Hurt A historic 127-year-old mansion was consumed by fire in Newark Thursday night, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement.  Firefighters responded to 172 Clinton Ave. shortly before 8 p.m., where the fire was ripping through the vacant home. The fire went to three alarms before it was brought under control around midnight.
