A girl was taken into custody after police in New Jersey said she made a school shooting threat on social media "to see how people would react." Bridgeton police were made aware of the threat of a shooting at the Broad Street School on Thursday, Sept. 19, they said. "This threat was posted to Instagram and other social media applications," police said. "On the post there were many names listed as potential targets of the shooting." Atlantic City's mayor and schools superintendent were indicted after being accused of physically and emotionally abusing the couple's teen daughter, authorities said. A grand jury indicted Mayor Marty Small Sr., 50, and Dr. La'Quetta Small, 47, on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. Juvenile In Custody For Threats Made Against Hackensack Schools
A juvenile is in custody after police say he made online threats of violence against multiple Hackensack schools on Saturday morning, Sept. 14. Police were made aware of the threats around 7:35 a.m. by school officials, Hackensack PD Capt. Michael Antista said. Peeping Tom, 37, Films Inside Stranger's Home In Dumont, Police Say
A 37-year-old Dumont man was lodged in the Bergen County Jail on accusations he approached someone's front door and began filming the inside of their home, authorities said. Christian Ferrer was identified as the suspect who went up to the door of a stranger's home and used a cell phone to film inside the home, Dumont Police Detective Lt. Luke Totten said. Ferrer was charged with criminal trespass and stalking. He was lodged in the Bergen County Jail.

A 26-year-old New York man has been charged with murder in the Thursday, Aug. 15 death of his twin sister, authorities said. The vice president of a scrap metal company died in a crash in Ocean County, authorities said. Kevin Scoda, 24, of Edison, was killed in the crash on Route 72, the Stafford Township Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, July 23.
