Services have been finalized for a 45-year-old New Jersey mother who was killed on a camping trip with her husband and two sons. Former Nun, 96, Killed By Car, Driver Cited In Sussex County, Police Say
A 96-year-old former nun was struck and killed by a vehicle last week in Sussex County, police said. Aurora Marcos Travis, of Newton, died on Thursday, June 27, after being struck by a 25-year-old driver who failed to yield as she crossed Madison Street in a marked crosswalk, local police said. The driver had been turning left from Elm Street around 11 a.m., Newton police said. The Bergenfield Public School District is mourning the loss of its high school principal, James "Jim" Fasano. Authorities have released more information about a fatal crash on a busy New York road that left a New Jersey man dead. Peter Leist, 62, of Denville, NJ was heading west on Route 301 in Carmel, NY, when he crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a few vehicles and collided head-on with a small bus, around 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.
