Gov. Phil Murphy has nominated Rutgers law school graduate Jacquelyn Suárez to step in as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs after Sheila Y. Oliver’s unexpected death last month. Six Flags' Popular El Toro Rollercoaster Reopens Saturday
El Toro, the popular wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, will reopen to riders on Saturday after a malfunction closed the ride last August, officials said. The ride will reopen to season pass holders Saturday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m., said Staci Wheeler, a Six Flags spokeswoman. Regular ticket holders will be able to ride starting at 1:30 p.m. Similar season pass holder hours will be held on Sunday June 18. Kingda Ka Rollercoaster Closes After Malfunction At Six Flags Great Adventure
Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure, is closed after a malfunction (scroll for video of the ride). It's the second coaster ride closed after El Toro closed in August, also due to a malfunction. El Torro is set to reopen on Saturday, June 17. Six Flags' El Toro Rollercoaster Nears Reopening 10 Months After Malfunction
Plans are in the works to reopen El Toro, the popular wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, nearly 10 months after a malfunction, officials confirmed. Fourteen riders were injured during a ride malfunction last August. NJ Orders Six Flags El Toro Rollercoaster Shuttered After 19 Injured
The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs has ordered the shutdown of the El Toro rollercoaster at Six Flags Great Adventure after at least 19 people were hurt. A total of 14 people were treated at the scene and another five were hospitalized for evaluation, officials said.
