Update: Emerson Man, 63, Struck By Commuter Train An Emerson man struck in town by a commuter train Tuesday afternoon remained hospitalized. Responders said the 63-year-old man suddenly stepped in front of the NJ Transit train -- which was traveling at about 45 miles an hour -- behind the Stop & Shop supermarket off Kinderkamack Road shortly after 4 p.m. He remained at Hackensack University Medical Center with serious injuries, they said.
