Lifelong Allendale Resident Sharon Moran Dies, 54
Sharon Moran, a lifelong Allendale resident, died Monday, Aug. 26, according to her obituary on the Vander Plaat Funeral Home website. She was 54 years old.
Sharon's obituary remembered her as a dedicated mom to her girls, Brynne and Macie, and worked in financial planning for Fidelity Investments, in Nanuet, NY.
"Sharon had the unique ability of finding a diamond in the rough," her obituary says. "She loved to find hidden treasures and had a heart and an eye for seeing the best in everything."

A Hudson Valley man and woman are behind bars following an investigation into illegal firearms in the region.
Rockland County residents Tao Zhang, age 35, and Vivian Wu, age 35, both of Nanuet, were charged on Tuesday, July 2, following an ongoing investigation into illegal firearms in the county.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh said the investigation began in May after his office received information regarding an illegal firearm component being shipped to Nanuet.

The son of Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco was arrested on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer on Route 95 in Florida, authorities said.
James J. Tedesco IV, 43, of Nanuet had an NYPD jacket and DEA hat with him, as well as two AR-15 rifles, 1,139 rounds of ammo and a bag loaded with gas mask equipment and suits, when he was stopped on the southbound interstate in Vero Beach shortly after 4:30 p.m. Monday, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said.

A Rockland woman was drunk when she drove the wrong way on Route 208, police in Oakland said.
